Romerike International School (RIS) is a new school to be established within the municipality of Nes kommune. The school opens in August 2021.
RIS will offer an IB structured curriculum.
We will as soon as possible apply for registration as an authorized world school in both the Primary Years Programme and the Middle Years Programme.
RIS will welcome students and staff from many nationalities within our school community and we look forward to expanding this representation that provides us a truly international environment.
The school building is designed for 10 classes in our Primary section as well as in our Middle Years Programme. We have a maximum capacity of 20 students per class.
Nes and Neskollen
I 2020 Nes has approximately 23,000 inhabitants. Our location at Neskollen lies close to the Ullensaker border.
Neskollen. located by E16, has very good bus connections to most places in the Romerike region. From Oslo Airport Gardermoen, via Jessheim and to Årnes, there are twice per hour routes in both directions. From Kløfta and Herbegåsen there is a bus every hour. Dedicated school busses to and from the local high schools (Nes and Hvam) will take students from Frogner (Sørum) via Kløfta and Borgen and back. Train form e.g.Lillestrøm to Kløfta or to Jessheim – and continuing with busses, will take approximately 45 minutes.
The E16 motorway connects to E6 at Kløfta. Located in the real countryside, 20 minutes drive from Oslo Airport and 35 minutes to Oslo provides Nes the best of both worlds; immediate access to the capital and to the world and a retreat to nature in every direction. Nes is one of the largest agriculture municipalities in Norway.
Neskollen has a great sports hall – Nes Arena where our students will have their indoor physical training. Close by lies Hvam Sports camp with a number of fotball grounds, tracks into the hillsides and forest and much more.
